Cows, Cows, Cows
Here in Wisconsin the cow truly is a sacred animal. In this episode,
we explore the cows in our lives, from cows
appearing in famous art pieces, to cows in
literature, and dairy-related toys. Discover
the many ways that cows are part of our heritage,
our psyche, our society and what we all take for granted
as Wisconsinites. We look at how cows contribute
to the nation’s
food supply.
What’s not to love about the cow? She appears in
almost every way, shape, or form in our daily
lives. Cow motifs appear on everything from
our dinner ware and clothing, to even the décor
we use to furnish our homes. Several people
have gone so far as to fully decorate their
homes with collections and images of the dairy
cow! With all that emphasis on the dairy cow,
no wonder she's the main reason for our
state's 20.6 billion dollar industry. And she
doesn’t stop there—exports
of dairy products span over 80 billion dollars
and serve several different countries around
the world.
It’s
easy to see why the cow truly is an asset to America’s
Dairyland.
